How To Apply
We are very proud to announce that you can now apply online for accommodation! Students who are starting university this year will receive an accommodation brochure with a formal offer of a place on an academic programme at the College.
You will need to register your details with us if you have not done so already and then fill in the online application form. Once you have submitted your preferences, the Accommodation Office will process your application and you will be notified of the allocation when it has been made.
Before completing the application form, please read the brochure carefully and refer to the allocations policy which is referenced on the form.
The College encourages academic integration, and the residences offer accommodation to students from all disciplines. Candidates are asked to rank all of the residences listed on the application form (taking account of any single sex provision). However, demand for accommodation is high; no guarantee of a place in a particular residence/s may be given and applicants will be considered for any places which are available at the time of allocations.
Applications are only accepted from candidates who have firmly accepted a conditional (CF) or unconditional (UF) offer of a place on an academic programme at the College.
Acknowledgement of applications
All applications received before 20 August (publication of A level results) will be acknowledged by the Accommodation Office, usually within two weeks of receipt. If an application has not been correctly completed or if additional information is required candidates will be notified at this time.
Insurance Offers
Candidates holding King's as their insurance offer may not submit an application form to the Accommodation Office until all conditions of entry have been satisfied and the applicant has a confirmed place at the College; for undergraduate applicants this will usually be after publication of A level results.
Deferred entrants
Candidates who have deferred their entry to King's College must apply during the appropriate application period, eg if you have deferred entry until September 2002 you must complete a 2002/03 application form. Application forms should be requested from the appropriate School Office and returned to the Accommodation Office by 30 June.
Changing programme of study
Candidates who do not satisfy the conditions of entry for their first choice programme, and who are later accepted for a different programme at the College, should contact the Accommodation Office straight away. It may be necessary for such candidates to make a new application for accommodation; candidates who have a home address within London (ie the M25 ring road) will certainly be required to re-apply.
